THE TMT GMBH & CO. KG PRIVACY POLICY FOR THE SIGMONDO APP

We will never sell or rent any of your personal data to anyone.

Access to geolocation

Weather data

Since version 4.5, Sigmondo uses the Apple Weather service built into tvOS to display the user’s personal weather.

If you give Sigmondo permission to use your current location, your latitude and longitude will be sent to the Apple Weather service to get the weather forecast for that location, but no personally identifiable information (such as the fact that the requested location is your current location) will be associated with that location or sent to us or the Apple Weather service.

For more information, please see Apple’s Privacy Policy: apple.com

Up to version 4.4 Sigmondo did use the Dark Sky API (https://darksky.net) to display the user’s personal weather.

iCal / Calendar URLs

(Available since version 4.3)

Calendar data stored at iCal / .ics-URLs that you make use of in the Sigmondo app will be processed on our servers at sigmondo.com in order to filter upcoming events, sort them, handle recurrences of events and format them for displaying in Sigmondo. Neither the contents of your calendar nor the URL to your calendar will be stored persistently on our side.

For performance reasons calendar data will be cached server-side for a short period time (think minutes, not hours) and will be deleted after processing.

If a calendar URL cannot be opened or the contents of the given URL are not in the iCal format and therefore cannot be processed we will store this URL and the corresponding error in a log file. This ensures we can help our users with troubleshooting and improve our service.

Please note: Public calendar URLs you use in our app are also subject to the privacy policy of the respective provider (eg. Apple iCloud Calendar, Google Calendar).

YouTube Live Streaming URLs

(Available since version 4.4)

In order to get the HTTP Live Streaming URL for a given YouTube video, we send the YouTube web page URL to our servers at sigmondo.com and parse the source code to extract the URL needed for playback within the Sigmondo app.

In this process we do not store any personal data related to you or your YouTube account.

Please note: YouTube URLs you use in our app are also subject to the privacy policy of YouTube itself.
